AP Top 25 College Football Rankings: Undefeated Teams Remain on Top

The new AP Top 25 college football poll has been released, and the top teams from last week’s rankings remain undefeated. Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, Florida State, and Washington all secured victories in Week 10 to improve their records to 10-0. Additionally, the top one-loss teams, including Oregon, Texas, and Alabama, also emerged victorious. One team that made a significant statement this week was Missouri, who blew out Tennessee.

Georgia Bulldogs (Previous Ranking: 1)
The Georgia Bulldogs continue to dominate as they secured their 27th straight win, just two away from setting the all-time record for an SEC team. They defeated Ole Miss with a commanding 52-17 victory, marking their third-largest margin of victory over an AP top-10 team. Their next challenge comes on Saturday when they face Tennessee.

Michigan Wolverines (Previous Ranking: 2)
The Michigan Wolverines improved their record to 10-0 for the second consecutive season, a feat they haven’t achieved since 1971 to ’74. They secured their 999th win in program history with a 24-15 victory over Penn State. Next, they will face Maryland on Saturday.

Ohio State Buckeyes (Previous Ranking: 3)
Marvin Harrison Jr. made history for the Ohio State Buckeyes by becoming the first Buckeye to record 1,000 receiving yards in two separate seasons. With over 100 yards in his seventh game of the year, Harrison Jr. helped the Buckeyes secure a 38-3 victory over Michigan State. They will face Minnesota next.

Florida State Seminoles (Previous Ranking: 4)
The Florida State Seminoles extended their winning streak to 16 games, tying for the third-longest streak in school history. Although quarterback Jordan Travis’s streak of accounting for at least two touchdowns ended at 16 games, the Seminoles managed to defeat Miami with a 27-20 victory. They will face North Alabama next.

Washington Huskies (Previous Ranking: 5)
Michael Penix Jr. had an outstanding performance for the Washington Huskies, throwing for 332 yards and becoming the first player in Huskies history to have over 8,000 passing yards in a two-year span. The Huskies secured a 35-28 victory over Utah to maintain their undefeated record. They will face Oregon State next.

Other notable teams in the top 25 include Oregon, Texas, Alabama, Louisville, and Oregon State. Oregon’s quarterback, Bo Nix, had an impressive game with 400 passing yards and four touchdowns in their 36-27 victory over USC. Texas held on to a 29-26 victory over TCU thanks to Quinn Ewers’ 317 passing yards and Jonathon Brooks’ 104 rushing yards. Alabama’s Jalen Milroe became the first player in Alabama history to have three passing touchdowns and three rushing scores in a single game in their 49-21 win over Kentucky. Louisville outscored Virginia in the fourth quarter, securing a 31-24 victory with Isaac Guerendo’s game-winning 73-yard rushing touchdown. Oregon State dominated Stanford with a 62-17 victory, marking their largest margin of victory in a Pac-12 game since 2012.

Despite some ups and downs for certain teams, the AP Top 25 rankings showcase the strength and skill of these college football powerhouses. The upcoming weeks will continue to test these teams as they strive to maintain their undefeated records and secure their positions in the rankings.
