Law enforcement sources have revealed that at least 16 people were killed, and numerous others were injured in multiple shootings in Lewiston, Maine. Authorities are currently conducting an extensive manhunt for the suspect involved in these horrific mass shootings.
Suspect at Large, Urgent Lockdown Measures in Place
The Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that a suspect is still at large. In response to the ongoing investigation, the sheriff’s office has urged all businesses to lock down and/or close their operations. The safety of the community is of utmost importance.
Identification of the Suspect and Suspect’s Vehicle
The sheriff’s office has released images of the suspect, who was seen carrying a high-powered assault-style rifle. Additionally, the Lewiston Police Department shared an image of the suspect’s vehicle, a small white SUV with a front bumper suspected to be painted black. Maine State Police have confirmed that the image is indeed the suspect’s car.
Active Shooter Incidents in Lewiston, Maine
Lewiston police have reported active shooting incidents at Sparetime Recreation, a bowling alley on Mollison Way, and Schemengees Bar & Grille Restaurant on Lincoln Street. Contrary to initial reports, the Walmart Distribution Center was not involved in the incidents.
