First-ever, free fashion show hosted by Students for Sustainable Fashion on Friday

### Students for Sustainable Fashion Prioritizes Advocacy, Inclusivity, and Sustainability for Debut Fashion Show

Students for Sustainable Fashion (SFSF) is gearing up to host its first fashion show, focusing on advocacy, inclusivity, and sustainability. The club, in collaboration with the American Conservation Coalition and the Business of Retail Association, will present the show in the RPAC’s Meeting Rooms No. 2 and No. 3 on Friday. Co-founders Molly Hoskin and Vir Kolpe are leading the effort to educate students about the relationship between fashion and environmental science.

### A Platform for Eco-Conscious Fashion Choices and Creative Expression

The primary goals of the event revolve around advocating for eco-conscious fashion choices on campus and providing a platform for creatives to showcase their talents. According to Hoskin, sustainability is a growing topic that she personally advocates for, and the club aims to educate people about sustainability in various areas, including fashion. The show, titled “The Sustainable Fashion Show,” will feature designs submitted by students, highlighting their interpretations of the elemental theme, “Mother Earth.”

### Emphasizing Accessibility and Self-Expression in Sustainable Fashion

Kolpe emphasized that the show is organized by students for students, with an overarching theme of “Mother Earth” divided into four elements – earth, water, air, and fire collections. The organizers hope to convey that sustainable fashion is not inherently costly or inaccessible, encouraging attendees to express themselves regardless of budget or background. The club’s main goal is to advocate for sustainability and showcase that fashion is diverse and inclusive, rejecting the notion of a one-size-fits-all approach.

### Aiming for Success and Long-Term Impact

Both Hoskin and Kolpe expressed their desire for the show to be a success, hoping to increase interest in the organization’s mission and promote environmentally friendly clothing options. Kolpe emphasized the club’s ambition to establish itself as a creative and comprehensive student organization, setting a trail for the future of fashion at Ohio State University.

“The Sustainable Fashion Show” is scheduled to take place on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the RPAC’s Meeting Rooms No. 2 and No. 3, with doors opening at 6 p.m. More information about the event can be found on SFSF’s Instagram [page](https://www.instagram.com/sfsfosu/?igsh=dWF4MnoyMnBtbHZt).
