The Kansas City Chiefs have secured the services of European rugby sensation Louis Rees-Zammit, enhancing their offensive arsenal.

At age 23, Rees-Zammit declared his ambition to transition to the NFL back in January. After showcasing his skills at the NFL’s International Player Pathway pro day, where he clocked an impressive 4.43 in the 40-yard dash, Rees-Zammit visited several teams before reaching an agreement with the Chiefs as reported.

Expanded Opportunities for International Players

This season introduces a new roster spot specifically for an international player on each team’s practice squad. Teams can also promote an international practice squad member to the active roster up to three times per season, creating more chances for player development and game opportunities.

Moreover, teams are granted a training camp roster exemption for qualifying international players, providing further avenues for global talent to showcase their skills.
