### Annual Western District 4-H Fashion Revue Showcases Youth Talent

The stage was set on a beautiful recent Saturday afternoon in Wyoming for the annual Western District 4-H fashion revue. Nineteen 4-H members from five Western New York counties, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Orleans, and Wyoming, participated in the event, showcasing their sewing projects and talents.

### Building Self-Esteem Through Creativity

Participation in the 4-H clothing and textiles project not only builds self-esteem but also allows youth to express their individuality through their personal creativity. Youth selected at the county level based on the quality of their work and experience had the opportunity to model on stage, being evaluated on fit, poise, posture, and style of their sewn items. Dresses, aprons, pajamas pants, vests, coats, and more were showcased during the event.

### Informative Presentation and Historical Insight

This year’s event, hosted by the Wyoming County 4-H program, took place at the Church on the Green, a public event space. Over 50 families gathered for the day’s event, where lunch was provided, and local historian Kay Swyers gave a presentation on the history of sewing and pattern utilization in the late 1800s. Attendees also had the chance to visit and tour the Middlebury Academy.

### Congratulations to All Participants

Congratulations to all clothing revue participants from the various 4-H clubs, including Leah Olejniczak, Miranda Ritter, Claudia Almekinder, Tiana Bova, Drake Joy, Ava Carmella Valone, Fiona Cortright, Logan Ellsworth, Grace Reid, Mitchell Tauzel, Sophia Kalinowski, Esme Coleman, Shania Mathes, Olivia Mathes, Adele Mathes, Vera Cooper, Kennedy Francis, Tenley Harris, and Leah Jones.
