Pope Francis Recognizes Miracles and Approves Canonization of Martyrs

Recognition of Miracles

Pope Francis has approved the recognition of a miracle attributed to Blessed Carlo Acutis and another to Blessed Giuseppe Allamano, along with the canonization of 11 martyrs in Syria.

Blessed Carlo Acutis’ Miracle

A miracle related to a woman from Costa Rica has been attributed to Blessed Carlo Acutis. This miracle involves the healing of a woman’s daughter who suffered a severe head injury after falling from a bicycle. Through the intercession of Blessed Carlo Acutis, the woman’s daughter made a remarkable recovery, defying the odds given by her doctors.

Blessed Giuseppe Allamano’s Miracle

Blessed Giuseppe Allamano, who founded the Consolata Missionaries, has also been recognized for a miracle. This miracle involved the healing of an indigenous man who was attacked by a jaguar in the Amazonian forest. Through the prayers and intercession of Blessed Giuseppe Allamano, the man survived a life-threatening situation.

Canonization of Martyrs

In addition to the recognition of miracles, Pope Francis approved the canonization of 11 martyrs in Syria. Among them are Blessed Emanuele Ruiz and 7 Companions of the Order of Friars Minor, as well as Francesco, Abdel Mooti, and Raffaele Massabki, Lay Faithful. These individuals were killed in Damascus between July 9 and 10, 1860, in hatred of the faith.

Other Recognitions

Furthermore, Pope Francis acknowledged the martyrdom of a Polish priest and a Hungarian-born laywoman who were persecuted for their faith. He also recognized the heroic virtues of several individuals, including Italian Capuchin priest Guglielmo Gattiani, Spanish layman Ismaele Molinero Novillo, and Italian layman Ismaele Molinero Novillo.

These decrees reflect the ongoing commitment to honoring individuals who have shown extraordinary faith and dedication to their beliefs.
