The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in Texas is excited to announce a new sign-up opportunity for the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) in fiscal year 2024. This program aims to support farmers, ranchers, and forest landowners in enhancing their conservation efforts.

Applications for the CSP through IRA will be accepted until June 21, 2024. The sign-up will be funded through Act Now, allowing for faster approval and obligation of applications that meet or exceed the state-determined ranking score of 15.

What is the Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP)?

The CSP enables participants to earn annual payments for five years, supporting them in achieving higher levels of conservation and stewardship. NRCS will work closely with individuals to develop customized plans that align with their conservation goals. Unlike the classic CSP, CSP-IRA focuses specifically on climate and clean energy initiatives.

How to Apply for Assistance

If you’re interested in participating in this program, submit your applications before the deadline on June 21, 2024. Applications received after this date will be considered for the next funding cycle.

NRCS has streamlined the application process through its “Act Now” authority, allowing for quicker approval based on pre-determined ranking scores. Applications meeting or exceeding the minimum score of 15 will receive priority funding consideration.

Don’t wait to start your conservation projects – contact your local NRCS service center or Farm Service Agency county office to begin your application process today!
