A Day of Action for the Environment

In Clayton County, Georgia, the community of Jonesboro gathered at Swint Elementary School for a common purpose – the Rivers Alive Stream Cleanup. With volunteers of all backgrounds, they worked together to remove trash and debris from local waterways, restoring and revitalizing the environment.

Transforming Waterways and Community

The Rivers Alive Stream Cleanup was a resounding success. Volunteers joined forces to eliminate waste from the waterways, resulting in cleaner and healthier environments that showcased the community’s commitment to environmental stewardship.

Advancing clean energy and Environmental Protection

Rhudine Steele, a dedicated member of clean energy Generation and a Clayton County resident, wanted to ensure that while the community focused on environmental cleanup, they were also aware of opportunities to embrace clean energy and reduce fossil fuel pollution. Rhudine, alongside SACE, shared valuable insights and resources about new funding opportunities for home energy upgrades and the role individuals can play in clean energy Generation.

Lower Costs and Sustainable Choices

Many parents and community members were interested in reducing their utility costs while contributing to clean energy initiatives. Information about tax credits and rebates under the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) caught their attention. Most were unaware of the financial incentives available to them for investing in clean energy upgrades.

A Platform for Environmental Awareness

The event served as a platform for environmental awareness and a step towards a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable future. Engaging conversations highlighted the benefits of clean energy and the potential for households to reduce their energy consumption.

Creating a Sustainable Legacy

Fliers explaining the benefits of the IRA garnered significant interest from community members. These tax incentives and rebates empower homeowners to make sustainable choices while reducing energy costs.
