Weather Rating: 3/10

A somewhat subjective rating of the day’s weather, on a scale of zero to 10.

Today’s Conditions

  • Clearing and windy. 50s to 40s.
  • Partly cloudy, slight chance of rain or snow shower. Lows: 29 to 34.
  • Mostly sunny, blustery. Highs: 36 to 41.

Weather Outlook

Our soaking rainstorm pulls away this morning, leaving behind blustery conditions and a shift toward chillier weather. Tuesday is the week’s coldest day before a slow warm-up toward pretty seasonal temperatures. Precipitation chances are generally low in the wake of this big storm.

Today’s Forecast

Today (Monday): A little rain may linger early but, by midmorning, most of us should be clearing out. As the storm passes to our north, winds from the northwest steadily crank up, becoming sustained at 25 to 30 mph this morning and turning gusty. Peak gusts should reach 40 to 50 mph before easing somewhat toward evening. High temperatures in the 50s early in the morning dip some and then mostly hover in the upper 40s through late afternoon. Confidence: Medium-High

Tonight: It’s not as windy but it does turn cold. Lows range from the upper 20s to low 30s. Clouds may increase some overnight, and a passing rain or snow shower is possible but shouldn’t amount to anything. Confidence: Medium

Tomorrow’s Forecast

Tomorrow (Tuesday): Skies become mostly sunny, but it’s windy and cold. Highs are in the upper 30s and low 40s, but it will feel like it’s freezing with winds from 15 to 20 mph gusting to 20 to 30 mph. Confidence: Medium-High

Tonight: Winds back off and it’s the week’s coldest night. Lows range through the 20s under mostly clear skies. Confidence: High

Midweek Forecast

Generally calm weather prevails Wednesday through Friday with temperatures bouncing around but within a narrow range. Under partly to mostly sunny skies, highs range from 40 to 45 Wednesday, edge closer to 50 Thursday and are in the mid- to upper 40s Friday. Lows each night are in the mid-20s to low 30s. Confidence: Medium-High

Weekend Outlook

The weekend forecast isn’t totally clear-cut. There’s no big storm, but a little moisture may try to overrun some chilly air feeding into the region from the north. Models conflict on whether we’ll see any precipitation. For now, we’ll call for mostly cloudy skies with highs in the 40s and lows in the 30s. Confidence: Low-Medium
