New Funding Program for Low-Income Families

New York State is making strides in energy efficiency with the launch of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates (HEAR) Program. This initiative, funded by a $39.6 million grant, aims to help low-income families enhance their homes with energy-efficient upgrades. These improvements not only reduce energy costs but also contribute to the state’s goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 85% by 2050.

By expanding the reach of the EmPower+ program, New York State is paving the way for cleaner energy solutions. The IRA Home Energy Rebate programs are set to receive a total of $317.7 million in funding, with a significant portion allocated to the HEAR program.
