January 6 Community Day Pokemon Confirmed for Pokemon GO

Pokemon GO’s January Community Day: Rowlet Takes the Spotlight

Pokemon GO players, get ready for an exciting event to kick off the new year! Niantic and The Pokemon Company have confirmed that the Grass/Flying-type Pokemon Rowlet will be the star of January’s Community Day event. This event will take place on January 6, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time.

During this event, Rowlet will appear more frequently in the wild, giving players a greater chance to encounter this adorable Pokemon. But that’s not all – there will also be shiny variants of Rowlet available for trainers to catch!

Exclusive Moves and Event Bonuses

One of the highlights of the January Community Day is the opportunity to earn an exclusive move for Rowlet’s final evolution. By evolving Dartrix, players can obtain a powerful Decidueye that knows the Frenzy Plant Charged Attack. Additionally, Decidueye will now be able to learn the Ghost-type move Spirit Shackle.

To make the event even more exciting, there will be several event bonuses active for a limited time. Trainers can expect 3x Stardust and 2x Candy for catching Pokemon, as well as Lure Modules and Incense that last for a generous three hours. And for those looking to make a special trade, an extra Special Trade will be available.

Preparing for the Event

If you’re eager to make the most of the January Community Day, it’s a good idea to prepare in advance. The year-end Community Day event, which took place from December 16 to 17, allowed players to capture Pokemon from previous events in 2022 and 2023. This was a fantastic opportunity for trainers to bolster their Pokedex and get ready for the upcoming events in 2024.

During the event, special Field Research tasks will offer players the chance to earn additional rewards like Stardust and Ultra Balls. There will also be a Community Day Special Research story for Rowlet available for $1.00 or one gift ticket.

Raid Battles and More

After the Community Day event concludes, players will have the opportunity to participate in special four-star raid battles featuring Dartrix. These battles will appear around Gyms from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, giving trainers even more chances to encounter Rowlet.

And let’s not forget about Smeargle! By taking a snapshot in Pokemon GO, trainers can catch this elusive Pokemon and earn additional rewards from PokeStop Showcases.

Looking Ahead

Once the Rowlet event concludes, players can expect more information about future Community Day events. Season 13 of Pokemon GO, titled “Timeless Travels,” will be active until March 1. And later in the year, the highly anticipated 2024 Pokemon World Championships will take place, providing even more excitement for new and returning players.

So mark your calendars for January 6 and get ready to embark on a Pokemon adventure like never before. Don’t miss out on the chance to catch rare Pokemon, earn exclusive moves, and enjoy event bonuses. Get out there and become the ultimate Pokemon trainer!
