Washington State’s Kyle Smith Moves to Stanford

Exciting news as Washington State‘s Kyle Smith accepts the head-coaching position at Stanford.

Pac-12 Coach of the Year

Smith, recently honored as the 2024 Pac-12 Coach of the Year, led the Cougars to their first NCAA tournament appearance since 2008 with a remarkable season record of 25-10 overall and 14-6 in the Pac-12.

Major Achievements

After beating Arizona and securing the top spot in the Pac-12 standings, Washington State emerged as a 7-seed in the NCAA tournament, ultimately clinching a first-round victory over Drake.

Successful Stint at Washington State

Smith wrapped up five seasons at Washington State, consistently finishing above .500 in the Pac-12 during his last three years.

Past Coaching History

Prior to his time at Washington State, Smith had coaching stints at San Francisco and Columbia, showcasing his leadership abilities and achieving remarkable success.

Transition to Stanford

Smith will be taking over at Stanford, replacing Jerod Haase, who was let go earlier this month. Stanford is gearing up to join the ACC this summer, along with Cal and SMU.
