Man Sentenced to Over Four Years in Prison for Blinding Police Officer in U.S. Capitol Attack
In a recent court ruling, a Lake County man has been handed a sentence of more than four years in prison for his involvement in the attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.
The offender, identified as Ryan Swoope, aged 29, hailing from Perry, unleashed pepper spray towards a U.S. Capitol police sergeant during the chaos. This act of aggression resulted in temporary blindness for the officer, rendering him incapacitated for around 20 minutes.
