Morgan Wallen, country singer, arrested for allegedly throwing chair off bar roof

In the early hours of Monday morning, country music star Morgan Wallen found himself in trouble with the law. He was booked into jail for allegedly throwing a chair from the sixth-floor roof of a downtown Nashville bar and concert venue.

Wallen faces three felony counts of reckless endangerment and a disorderly conduct charge, according to Nashville police. The incident involved the chair crashing onto the Broadway strip, not far from two police officers.

According to an arrest report obtained by WTVF, officers reviewed video footage showing Wallen throwing an object over the roof of Chief’s bar in Nashville. Witnesses described Wallen as laughing after the incident.

Wallen’s attorney, Worrick Robinson, stated that Wallen is fully cooperating with the authorities in this matter.

Chief’s is a new honky tonk in Nashville’s entertainment district, a venture from Wallen’s friend Eric Church. Wallen, known for chart-topping hits like “One Thing at a Time” and “Dangerous,” has faced a series of public incidents alongside his rise to mainstream popularity.

In 2020, Wallen was arrested for disorderly conduct at another Nashville bar. He later apologized publicly for the incident. Wallen also faced backlash for not wearing a mask during the early days of the pandemic, causing disruptions to his career.

In early 2021, a scandal involving Wallen using a racial slur threatened his career. However, after issuing a statement of apology and a promise to improve, Wallen managed to bounce back. Fans eagerly anticipated his headlining tour a year following the controversy.

Following his recent arrest, it remains uncertain what penalties Wallen may face. He was released on bond and is scheduled to appear in court on May 3, the same day he is set to perform at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium.
