Presidential Candidate Vivek Ramaswamy Defends Donald Trump Amid Attacks

Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has come to the defense of Donald Trump in the face of repeated attacks from Chris Christie, a fellow Republican frontrunner.

Criticism of Candidates for Trump Critiques

Ramaswamy has also criticized other candidates on the debate stage for previously supporting Trump and then criticizing him.

Attacking Fellow Candidates for Past Support

During the debate, the entrepreneur accused his fellow candidates of “licking Donald Trump’s boots” in the past in exchange for “money and endorsements.” He specifically called out Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley, and Chris Christie for seeking Trump’s support in their political endeavors.

Previous Ties to Trump

DeSantis, the governor of Florida, had previously highlighted his close relationship with Trump during his 2022 reelection campaign. Haley served as the US Ambassador to the United Nations during Trump’s administration, while Christie was involved in Trump’s transition team in 2016 and provided advice for his 2020 campaign, including debate preparation against President Joe Biden.

According to Ramaswamy, “These people are now Monday morning quarterbacking some decision he made. I think the real enemy is not Donald Trump. It’s not even Joe Biden. It is the deep state that at least Donald Trump attempted to take on.”

DeSantis’ Response

DeSantis intervened by pointing out Ramaswamy’s previous criticisms of Trump in his book “Woke Inc.,” which was published in 2021.

Ramaswamy’s Stance on Trump

Throughout his campaign, Ramaswamy has consistently praised and defended Trump’s policies and conduct. He has referred to Trump as “the greatest president of the 21st century” and has criticized the various criminal investigations into Trump’s actions.
