### Students Showcase Fashion Skills

Dozens of students at Sumner High School in St. Louis showcased their creativity and skills at a unique fashion show as the school year comes to a close. The students, enrolled in the school’s new Fashion Pathway program, took to the runway to display their modeling and design talents.

### Passion for Fashion

Among the participants, 18-year-old Tarah’j Williams expressed her love for fashion and art, stating, “I love fashion, I love clothes, I love getting to express myself through art.” Another student, 17-year-old Kayley Bryant-Vaughn, shared her passion for designing clothes, especially for plus-sized individuals like herself.

### Months of Preparation

The students dedicated months of hard work to prepare for the fashion show, with Williams mentioning that it took them around three and a half months to get ready. The program has been a rewarding experience for the students, allowing them to explore their creativity and develop their skills in fashion design.

### Arts Pathway Programs at Sumner

Sumner High School has been utilizing Arts Pathway programs to attract artistic students and enhance enrollment. Currently, around 90 students are engaged in various arts electives such as living arts, photography, film, dance, and choir. These programs aim to provide students with opportunities to explore their artistic talents and interests.

### Support from Community Organizations

The fashion show was sponsored by the Fathers & Families Support Center and funded by the Regional Arts Commission, highlighting the community support for the students’ creative endeavors. Organizers hoped that the event would leave the students feeling confident, inspired, and well-prepared for their future endeavors.
